Hi, I’m Sandra Urbina Harrington, the founder of Urbina Heritage and a proud Salvadoran now calling America, home.
It all started in 2019 during the pandemic in El Salvador. We were in lockdown, and options for treats were very limited. We couldn’t go out for shopping except on specific days, so we relied on what we already had in the pantry. One of those staples was jam — because my little niece Soffi absolutely loved it.
I watched her enjoy her favorite strawberry jam and felt a wave of disappointment. That bright red, super-sweet spread looked nothing like real strawberries. As a food engineer, I knew exactly what was in it — mostly food coloring, high fructose corn syrup, and very little actual fruit. That moment hit me hard. I thought: “Kids deserve better. Families deserve better.”
That’s when the idea for Urbina Heritage was born.
The Problem I Couldn’t Ignore
I’ve spent my career in the food industry, and I’ve seen practices that aren’t transparent to everyday consumers. Fillers, artificial ingredients, and shortcuts that hide behind pretty labels. I got tired of it. I wanted to create products that were honest — where you could actually taste the fruit, the spice, the real ingredients listed on the jar.
No fake colors. No high fructose corn syrup. No mystery fillers.
Just pure, flavorful food made the longer, harder, better way.
Bringing the Vision Home
I started experimenting in my kitchen in El Salvador and began selling at local farmers markets. The feedback was immediate and beautiful — people could taste the difference right away. Real pineapple in the pineapple jam. Bright, fresh heat in the salsas. It felt good to offer something I was proud of.
Then in 2021, I got married and moved to the United States. Instead of leaving the dream behind, I decided to bring it with me. I restarted Urbina Heritage with the same commitment: small-batch production, premium natural ingredients, and uncompromising quality.

Today, we proudly participate in local farmers markets, where we love meeting our customers face-to-face and sharing samples of our products. At the same time, we are actively working on expanding our online store so we can reach more families across the country who value honest, high-quality food.

What We Stand For at Urbina Heritage
Every jar we make carries the same promise I made to myself back in 2019:
- You will taste the fruit, not just sweetness.
- We take the time to do it right — no shortcuts.
- These are products I’m happy to serve my own family and yours.
Some of our favorites right now include:
- Salsa Verde — bright, tangy, and full of fresh flavor
- Pineapple Pepper Chutney — sweet heat with a kick, perfect for glazing or pairing
- Pistachio Butter — rich, creamy, and made with real pistachios
These aren’t mass-produced. They’re made carefully in small batches so the quality and flavor stay exceptional.

A Legacy I’m Building for My Family
More than anything, Urbina Heritage is about legacy. I want my children to grow up knowing their mom and dad created something honest. I want them to see that good business practices and real quality matter. I want the name “Urbina” to bring them pride and joy for generations.
This is the world I want to leave behind — one where food brings families together without hidden compromises.
Try It Yourself
If you’re tired of the same old overly sweet, artificial spreads, I invite you to taste the difference.
Here are a few easy ways our customers love using our products:
- Spread Pineapple Pepper Chutney on grilled chicken or pork for an instant sweet-heat glaze
- Mix Salsa Verde into scrambled eggs or tacos for bright morning flavor
- Swirl Pistachio Butter into oatmeal or spread it on warm toast with a drizzle of honey
We’re constantly developing new recipe ideas to help you enjoy our products in creative ways.
Join Our Journey
We went through a rebranding process to better reflect our next chapter here in America, but at the core, the products are the same — and in many ways even better. I’ve continued perfecting our recipes over time while staying true to the honest standards and real ingredients I started with in El Salvador.

Thank you for being part of the Urbina Heritage story. Whether you’re looking for honest jams, flavorful salsas, or unique spreads, I promise you’ll taste the care in every jar.
